Grainbrain

Incubator company

Grainbrain unlocks the natural nutrition in grains through a cost-effective, patentable and industrially scalable hydrothermal process that makes minerals in food bioavailable.

The technology reduces phytic acid in grains and legumes, increasing the bioavailability of minerals. This means that the body can more easily absorb iron, manganese and other essential nutrients. Unlike traditional methods, the process does not rely on fermentation, microorganisms or enzymes, but is based on a controlled multi-step hydrothermal treatment that can be implemented in standardised industrial equipment.

Grainbrain has also developed process software that can be integrated into existing mechanical systems – offering a scalable solution for a more nutritious and sustainable food system.

Incubator Journey

Grainbrain is one of the newest companies in Krinova’s food incubator. With support from the incubator team, they are working to finalise their business model, develop a go-to-market strategy and prepare for market introduction.

The focus ahead is on further developing existing pilot cases and creating opportunities for additional pilots that can evolve into commercial agreements, as well as identifying funding opportunities to accelerate growth.
