Livsmedelsallians Syd is a collaborative platform that brings together industry, academia, innovation environments and public sector organisations to strengthen the development of the future food system in Southern Sweden. It provides a space where established organisations and initiatives can work towards shared goals – not as a new organisation, but as a way to create greater impact through stronger coordination and collaboration.
Southern Sweden is uniquely positioned to become one of Europe’s leading food regions. The region is home to strong food companies, world-class research, abundant raw materials, and a wide range of testing and innovation environments. At the same time, many initiatives are currently fragmented. By aligning efforts around common goals, we can better realise the region’s full potential, attract investment and create greater value for both businesses and society.
Goals – Strengthening Businesses, Research and Society
Livsmedelsallians Syd aims to contribute to a more innovative, competitive and sustainable food sector in Southern Sweden. Through collaboration, the alliance seeks to deliver tangible results that benefit businesses, research and society alike.
The alliance focuses particularly on:
- increasing the pace of innovation in the food sector by connecting ideas, expertise and resources
- making it easier for companies to develop and test new solutions, including through improved access to testing and innovation environments
- shortening the path from research to market through closer collaboration between academia and industry
- strengthening the conditions for investment and growth in the region’s food companies and startups
- bringing regional stakeholders together around shared priorities to create greater impact in national and international contexts
- positioning Southern Sweden as a leading food region in Europe, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and competitiveness.
By working towards these goals, Livsmedelsallians Syd helps unlock the region’s collective potential and create long-term value for both businesses and society.
Livsmedelsallians Syd serves as a neutral platform where different stakeholders can come together around shared challenges and opportunities. The alliance does not replace existing organisations or initiatives. Instead, it improves coordination, strengthens collaboration and helps stakeholders work towards common goals.
An important part of Livsmedelsallians Syd’s work will be to initiate, secure funding for and lead projects that are strategically important, long-term in scope, and aligned with national and regional food strategies.
Region Skåne, Livsmedelsakademin and Krinova Incubator & Science Park are the initiators of Livsmedelsallians Syd, but the alliance is being built together with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.
