Water for the Future – Efficient water use for food companies in Skåne

The project strengthens collaboration among municipalities, primary producers, innovators, and food companies to develop sustainable solutions for future water supplies in rural Skåne. The focus is on efficient water use, increased preparedness for water shortages, and the testing of technical solutions that can be scaled up and widely adopted. The project specifically targets smaller food companies and primary producers in Skåne.

The project aims to: 

• Contribute to maintaining the food supply during future crises involving reduced water availability. 
  
• Foster inspiration, awareness, and knowledge regarding how to manage water shortages through efficient water use. 
  
• Develop alternative business models for crisis situations with limited water access. 
  
• Create new collaborative models for more efficient water use. 
  
• Test evaluated technical solutions for more efficient water use that can be scaled up and replicated.
